I saw a news about the introduction of new 250Hz rotors to replace the actual ones, ( see here pb.com forum )
The inners fins supporting the axle should be thicker, and it will be the same for the washers supporting the axle inside the white inner plastic ring. These new rotors should come with any new 250Hz (except the Sound ball, which already benefits of the last improvements). We can expect to buy those enhanced powerballs in the next few weeks.
As soon as some people compete with them, we'll know more about the efficiency of this change, and I think people will start to talk about pure performance of these new rotors compared to actual ones. (As this was the case between old school rotors and actual ones).
Nevertheless we hope our 250Hz powerballs will now last more than a month in full use, and full performance! _________________ Help Gyrotek when you buy your Powerballs, use our banner: International, France, Thanks!! |

That's very interesting... I hope the new poxerballs will be more resistant and more powerful! But i also hope we'll have the opportunity to receive free new pieces if we got old broken ones: it'd be a shame to have to order new powerballs to get just 2 tiny new pieces :p Well, we'll see in time if these new powerballs are better or worse

I think if you break a rotor and need a replacement, you'll need to specify that if you're getting a new-style rotor, you'll need a new-style support band as well, otherwise it won't work.
I've not seen any of these yet myself...perhaps I should ask Enda to send me one as a test. (One of my Old Skools could be on the way out...the oldest one I've got really...over two years old, and probably done several hundred million revs!!) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

I doubt they will be "better" to be honest. I've never found any to be as light and fast as my Old Skools, (but then I haven't used any others enough. With one of my OSPs (Old Skool Powerballs) getting slow and looking like it might be dying, I'm going to start using my New Skool one more...see how I get on.)
But I've asked Enda if he could send me one...to test. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

If we break one of the normal rotors can we get sent a new rotor in replacement? Me thinks if this happens then there will be a lot less emails going to repairs everyday
I wanna test one, or buy one of the new style balls _________________ __250Hz__ (RH/LH)

Well, I asked Enda for a new-style rotor, and he went and sent me two complete new-style Powerballs! Sweet!! I'm sure they'll nee working in, but I'll try them at the next live comp, (which I was assuming was going to be yesterday evening, so I logged in, but nothing. Very confusing to open the chat and see my name in second place, left over from last time I later realised!) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Very interesting! Hope you'll give us your imressions on these new powerballs as soon as possible The live is tomorrow, so we'll see what kind of scores these babies can make _________________ Speed:

Erm, I think they've actually just sent me two normal 250Hz Powerballs, and not the new ones after all. At least they look the same. Different boxes though. I'll try and make it to the chat later, but I doubt I'll produce any good scores from brand new Powerballs...I never do. Would be surprised if I hit 13k really. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

That's strange, i've done 14.8k with a new one, only done something like 15runs on it before getting this score
You're talking about those light green boxes? That's the ones i received 3weeks ago _________________ Speed:

I asked for replacements several weeks ago and just received them today. They are the old style rotors. I wonder if next time they'll send one of the new ones? By the way, like TIm, I have problems getting new balls up to speed. The ones I got today run perfectly smooth, but they go quite slow and are impossible for endurance. _________________ 15yr. old on my way to the top! |

It's just my experience that new balls never seem quite so fast. I've recently started using a new-style ball though, and I managed 14257 on it last night, when I did 14370 on my Old Skool, so hopefully this is going to be a quick one. (Still couldn't get over 25300 Dual Hand though...I'm just so crap at that!!)
The new balls I received I'm not going to use until I've heard back from Enda. I don't exactly need them, so if they aren't the new-style ones I'll send them back to him, unused. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

May I just say that my 14K score was on a squeaky new ball just opened the same day of the record. Must of been a bit of luck the I got the score but still on a new ball. Shows that they do have the potential to go fast _________________ __250Hz__ (RH/LH)

I got 139xx with very first spin sometime ago. Just little warming up with metal first. New ball isn't the problem for me, I wish I got one right now _________________ 250Hz Speed(R/L): 14832/14515 - Dual Run: 28425
