Okay, so we have the 30, 60 and 90-second discussions, what about a discussion on extreme endurance...I'm talking ten minutes to several hours.

I started to think about this sort of thing ages ago, while I was sat spinning my Powerball, half using the computer, half watching Beverly Hills Cop 3. (What a crap film that is!!) I happened to have the counter on the first setting, where it counts every 100 revs. In about half an hour I'd done 200,000 revs, so I decided to see what I could achieve when really trying.

My record for half an hour currently stands at about 285,000 revs. About 9500 RPM average. I've managed to keep that speed up for an hour, scoring around 565000. Then one time I decided to see if I could reach 1,000,000 revs in two hours, and I succeeded quite easily.

I'd like to try and hit some 10,000 rpm-average scores for ten minutes, 30 minutes and an hour, but I think it might kill me!!

One thing's for sure, my arms certainly feel massively pumped after a very long endurance session. Cool

i tried a 10min run the other day and got 86400. That long of endurance really takes it out of you, and you are right your arms are definitly huge (feeling) after. A 9500 average is definitly impressive for an hour, if you can do 10000 for an hour there would be no reason you couldnt do 18000+ in the 90's

Questions though, do these long endurance sessions effect you PB, do they wear out faster?

I've just tested 1,000,000... I have done it in 1 hour 47 minutes. ;-)

I guess it will start again at zero, but I'm curious too, I will also go for those 10,000,000 :-)

I've been "resting" recently, because my middle finger in my right hand feels bruised all around the two knuckles. However, I'm also on my way to 10 million to see what the counter does. Currently it's on about 3,200,000.

1,000,000 in 1 hr 47 mins is pretty good Pako. The only time I timed myself doing a million I finished in about 1 hr 55 mins, (but I did slow right down for the last 20 minutes or so as I was just aiming to get under 2 hours.)

I think averaging 10,000, for any amount of time over about 5 minutes, is a good thing to aim for. However, Mark - maintaining 10k for a long time is SO different to maintaining 12k for only 90 seconds. But I will do it. (Probably after the likes of Pako, The Force and Vincent.)

I, on the contrary, started rather slow, while watching Lord Of The Rings. After half a million revs I was bored at the chair, so I stood up and walked around the house, and increased my average speed. I completed the other half in about 49 minutes. So, next time I try, I will aim for 100 minutes, which is exactly 10000 rpm ;-)

Other than using the first function on the counter, Akis is probably the only man in the world (at the moment) who could possibly see a "2" as the left digit. Mine's a "3".

I did it immediately after that onslaught! (I don't know how to reduce the image size, as that was how big it was when I sent it to ImageShack...I know there's an option there to resize when you upload, but not after. Anyway, no need for both images.)

Sorry Sir! Embarassed

The problem was I'd already uploaded the image. Anyway, the 20000 image is very out of date now...done over 4,000,000 more revs since then, and should have 10,000,000 done by the end of the week. I'll try and video the counter clocking over, back to zero, (assuming that's what it does).

EDIT: Currently showing 7,565,000 revs!

Next, I'll see how long it takes me to do 10,000,000 on the Metal!!! Shocked Wink

Bringing this thread back to life again. Managed to maintain over 10k for 30 minutes yesterday. Counter was reading exactly 2000 after 20 minutes, so I put on a burst for the last ten minutes and managed an extra 1025. 302,500, averaging 10083 rpm.

Next try - 600,000 in an hour.

Then I might have a break! Very Happy

Finally gave this another go last night. Got out my Neon Green for a change, but probably wasn't a good idea as it's quite new and not broken in. After the first 30 minutes I was only just on 280,000. But I managed 307,600 in the second 30 minutes, which is over 10250 rpm. Final score, 587,600. Just over a minute out.

Next time! Wink
