When I "discovered" my new technique a few weeks back, where I was standing and got a new speed record (even though the counter didn't register it), I got my body and arm into a certain position. I didn't manage to do that last night. I seemed to peak too early, and was slowing down by the time I was starting to get into the right "position". I think if I work on it I'll be able to go a lot higher. And I'm not talking 14.7 or 14.8k...I'm talking much much more...14.9k perhaps!
(Too early to think about 15k yet I reckon.) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Yeah, Roli, I analysed my score too and noticed it definitely wasn't over 14639. That and my 14624 were lucky in that the counter registered the exact top speed, (or as near as possible).
Not sure what I would rather see...a much higher spectro graph and a counter error showing much less, or another tiny improvement on the counter.
Probably the high spectro graph. I mean, something like your 14.9k. You now know you can do that score, and soon it'll be on the counter. I know I've never gone over 14.7k... But I will! _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Wow you're pretty lucky :p
Roll and I were above 14.9k, and we only got 14.7 and 14.8k scores... Hope we'll all beat the 15k barrier as soon as possible _________________ Speed: 250Hz: 14702 (R) 15079 (L)

I think I will do 15k eventually, perhaps before or during the UK Championship.
I must be due a Hot Mode soon. 14.5k is quite common for me now, with a couple of minor step-ups into 14.6k. I'm sure that when the time is right I'll add 200 to 300 more onto my record, and then I'll be knocking on the door of the 15k club. (A long time ago I predicted I'd be the 13th one there, but at the moment I think Cazes, Edouard or Roli will be 13th, with the other two being 11th and 12th.) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Hi Tim,
It's not too soon to be thinking about 15k. You just need a few more hot-modes to get your score up to around 14,700 or so. At that point, you could very well hit the 15k at any moment. You would then just need to push it harder than ever before and hold that top speed.

You can do 15k, Tim.
RPM? I can't at the moment, but I hope to be able to one day. My target is August the 25th, as that's when the Unofficial UK Championships are.
Tell you what, let's see who gets to their target first...you to 14k Metal or me to 15k Plastic. (I expect you'll win!) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Well Duane, I think you were perhaps right again...in that it's not too early to start thinking about 15k. Pretty good session last night...
Started very badly, and couldn't even hit 13k cold. Normally can't add much more than 1000 to 1200 onto my cold scores, so wasn't expecting much. And after a warmup I did add 1000 - 13.8k - which is about right. However, after a quick 30s RH run of something like 6.5k, I did another 13.8k, then a 14.1k, then a 14.3k, then 14632...just 7 rpm off my record! Very surprised I was. From then on I had a fairly consistent session, mostly 14.4k to 14.6k...about 20 scores in that range in all, including a best of 14694, a new personal best. Couple of 6.7k 30s, few 12.4k to 12.6k Metal runs, and an 18.2k 90s Gripper, (where my left was so appalling it was unreal.)
"Just under 14.7k is still a long way off 15k though," I hear you say. It is really, but I picked four of my scores last night and analysed them.
An analysis of the 14694 shows it was nearer 14840!! (I've had scores where the very highest bit of the solid area is actually what the counter has recorded, so this could have been about right.)

Great score, Tim!
You are actually in range to hit 15k at any moment. It will soon be a matter of whether you believe that you can do it. Once you turn the "I'm pretty sure I can" into a definite "I can" then you will be able to simply push it more to make it happen.
15k is a strange and elusive barrier. Once you pass it, it becomes part of your inner Powerballer identity. You know exactly what is needed to get there.
Think of yourself as a 15k Powerballer in your own mind and believe that you are, then your mind will push your body make it certain.
When I got 14,731 on Jan 3, 2007, I set January 22, 2007 as the very date that I would hit 15k, convincing myself constantly in the days running up to the date that I would do it on that very date - and that is exactly what happened.
I thank you, Tim, for reminding me about how I attained the 15k on the 250Hz. Since I am aiming for 14k on the Metal, I will need to do same type of goal-setting and convince to make it all "click" together. So I will set a date of July 16th, 2007 as the day for me to be a 14ker on the Metal.
Keep pushing for 15k. You are virtually there, Tim! You will likely get to 15k before I hit 14k on the Metal.
